Mayor Ricardo Velo Revita and Rosales balikbayans from United Kingdom, British Columbia, Hawaii and California attended the launching of Gearing Up Internet Literacy and Access for Students in Robert Estrella National High School on June 8, 2009.

GILAS is a multi-sectoral initiative that is composed mainly of corporations and concerned non-profit institutions that realize the need to invest in bridging the digital divide among the nation’s public high school students. It will allow the high school students in the public education to access the resources in cyberspace.

The Ayala Foundation Incorporated, the LGU of Rosales Pangasinan headed by Mayor Revita and Rosalenians of Hawaii headed by Mr. Amado Bermuda, facilitated the entry of Gilas Project in Rosales.

Independence Day Celebration in SM Rosales

Lots of Cultural programs will be held in SM Rosales as Rosales Pangasinan celebrates Independence Day and its town fiesta.

Rosales Town Fiesta will be celebrated from June 8 to 14, 2009. SM City Rosales will be the venue for some of its activities.

June 9 – Rosales Marching Band will perform in Event Center. In the evening, the Balikbayan night will also be held in Grand Mall in Rosales.

June 10 – Sine Caboloan film showing.

June 11 – A stage play, Pragress, will be performed.

June 14 – Cultural Fashion Show will be showcased by designers from Pangasinan.

SM City Rosales is the first and the only SM mall in Pangasinan.

The final canvassing of Mrs Rosales 2009 was held at the Robert B. Estrella Gymnasium of Rosales National High School in Don Antonio Village, Rosales, Pangasinan on May 30, 2009.

Mrs. Felicitas Rabino Sanchez of Northern, California, USA won the Mrs Rosales 2009 Queen Title. Mrs. Catherine Benito Barroga of Hawaii, USA won the First Princess Title. Mrs. Flordeliza Sibayan Dolling of British Columbia, won the Second Princess Title. Mrs. Rebecca Valentino Jandoc of Hongkong as Muse. The proceeds of the contest will be used in the construction of museum, library and legislative building in Rosales, Pangasinan.

Pangasinan Pasalubong Center is the first store of its kind in Pangasinan. The store sell products from different towns in the most beautiful province in the Philippines. It is located along Mac Arthur Highway, Carmen East in Rosales Pangasinan.

The Pasalubong Center sells famous Pangasinan products such as boneless bangus from Dagupan, bagoong from Lingayen, dried fish from Sual and San Fabian, puto of Calasiao, Manaoag‘s pickled mangoes, Mangaldan processed meat and peanut brittle. Duhat wine from Dasol and Bugallon and muscovado sugar from Mapandan are also sold in the center. It is a project of the provicial government of Pangasinan under the leadership of Gov. Espino, Rosales municipal government under the leadership of Mayor Ricardo Velo Revita and the Abono partylist.

The Building B of SM City Rosales opened on May 15, 2009. It houses the mall’s major anchors: SM Department Store, SM Foodcourt, SM Cinema and other independent outlets. Its completion gives worldclass shopping experience to Pangasinan residents and tourists. It also serves as catalyst for economic growth in the area.

There are 4 deluxe cinemas in Building B. Its spacious foodcourt is at the groundfloor.

The opening of Building A happened on November 2008. Major anchors like SM Hypermarket, Ace Hardware, SM Appliance Center, Banco de Oro, Watsons and other retail stores and food outlets are housed in Building A.

SM City Rosales is the first SM mall in Pangasinan. It’s also the largest mall in the Province. SM Rosales is the 32nd SM supermall. It is located along Mac Arthur Highway, Carmen East, Rosales Pangasinan.

Mrs. Rosales Popularity Contest is Rosales Pangasinan’s major fund generating activity every fiesta. The candidates for 2009 are Catherine Benito Barroga of Hawaii, Flordeliza Sibayan Dolling of British Columbia, Canada, Rebecca Valentino Jandoc of Hongkong and Felicitas Rabino Sanchez of Northern, California. The formal presentation and the first canvassings was held on March 31, 2009 at the Rosales Presidencia. The committee was headed by Mayor Hon. Ricardo V. Revita. Members of civic organizations of the said town also attended the canvassing.
