31 May 2009There is an increasing demand for goat meat and goat milk and farmers in Balungao are earning more. They are using the technologies acquired during a 6 month training in Farmer Livestock School on Integrated Goat Management by PCARRD-DOST, ILRI, and IFAD. 11 farmers went through the said program.

28 May 2009Mangaldan mayor Herminio Romero said that pork in Mangaldan is safe to eat. He explained that the sick pig in the video interview of barangay chairman did not come from Mangaldan Pangasinan. It was slaughtered outside the town. This was not explained in the TV interview which caused the scare thus the drop in in sales of pork in Mangaldan.

25 May 2009Dagupan has formed a task force against AH1N1. After the Philippines 1st case of the Swine Flu, Mayoy Alipio Fernandez Jr. issued E.O. No. 14 which created the multi-agency task force. The formation of task force enhances the allocation of manpower and resource for Dagupan to respond effectively

23 May 2009Mrs. Rosales Popularity Contest is Rosales Pangasinan’s major fund generating activity every fiesta. The candidates for 2009 are Catherine Benito Barroga of Hawaii, Flordeliza Sibayan Dolling of British Columbia, Canada, Rebecca Valentino Jandoc of Hongkong and Felicitas Rabino Sanchez of Northern, California. The formal presentation and the first canvassings was held on March 31, 2009 at the Rosales Presidencia. The committee was headed by Mayor Hon. Ricardo V. Revita. Members of civic organizations of the said town also attended the canvassing.

20 May 2009At least 5, 000 people in Mangaldan Pangasinan partake pork dishes for free at the grand town plaza. Pork viands and steamed rice are laid out on banana leaves. Mangaldan municipal government in the leadership of Mayor Herminio Romero, along with vendors, tambays, and other sectors held the event to reassure residents that it’s still safe to eat pork. Income on Pork related businesses significantly decreased because of global swine flu scare which is also n=known as influenza A(H1N1).
