Mangaldan mayor Herminio Romero said that pork in Mangaldan is safe to eat. He explained that the sick pig in the video interview of barangay chairman did not come from Mangaldan Pangasinan. It was slaughtered outside the town. This was not explained in the TV interview which caused the scare thus the drop in in sales of pork in Mangaldan.

After the boodle fight the people are enlightened that the hogs and pork being sold in the said town are safe to eat.

Only Mangaldan, Urdaneta City, and Alaminos City have Class AA slaughterhouses in Pangasinan.

Mayor Romero added that Mangaldan is very strict with the sanitation at the slaughterhouse, as well as, the health of the animals being slaughtered there.
